So this may be nothing, but yesterday I noticed something about Boonie’s wee.
She normally goes in the litter box, which has recycled paper litter in it and I can’t see the colour of her urine.
But sometimes she misses and goes on this piece of black plastic near the litter box. And yesterday when she did this I noted the urine but forgot to clean it up.
At first it was normal looking yellow urine, but when I came back later it was reddish. I wipe it up with a tissue and the tissue was all red.
I don’t know if it’s just because of the plastic, or if it’s something to do with the fact it sat there for hours, or if there’s blood or something in her urine.
        Anybody??

Red pee is not unusual. In fact, it’s pretty common and pretty harmless. Has your bunny eaten anything with carotene in it? Carrots, spinach, kale, etc? Carotene causes their pee to look reddish orange.

Add to that list – dandelion and beet greens.

If it were blood, it would have been streaked with red from the start while still wet.

I was thinking that myself. And she seems fine as well, I mean I’d imagine she’d show some other symptoms if there was blood in her urine
So I’m happy (and so is she because she got a new box today)
