        Hi,
We have a male bun called Rambo and we got him a friend and they got on really well for three weeks until we discovered that the new arrival was actually a boy and not a girl!! They were fine for another week but now Rambo seems sad, just lying down and no binkys, he seems to get annoyed with the new bun and doesn’t want to snuggle any more!
I wonder if they will get on better if I get the second one neutered?
They don’t fight and aren’t aggressive towards each other but the new bun has strarted to hump Rambo?
I just want to make sure Rambo is ok as he’s not his usual self!!
        Thanks

Is the new bunny quite a bit younger? I’m sure Rambo’s mood has nothing to do with the new bunny’s gender. He may just be annoyed by this energetic and enthusiastic newcomer. If they are getting along otherwise, then I would have them neutered and then bonded. My boys absolutely adore each other.

Are you just in the process of bonding or are they living together?

              Hi
              Thank you,
Rambo is neutered and peanut the new bun is only ten weeks so maybe he’s a bit lively for Rambo as he’s quite a quiet chilled bun!
Maybe when peanut is neutered also he may calm down a little, they already live together and get on fine (they were fine straight away so bonding was easy) but Rambo just doesn’t seem his usual self, he’s eating and pooping fine just seems a bit down but maybe just worn out by his new friend!!!

They are bonded and living together, when we first got peanut the second bun he was tiny but now he’s getting bigger I think maybe he’s trying to dominate Rambo (hence the humping) maybe this is why Rambo is a bit sad?
I will get peanut neutered and see if this makes any difference
                Thanks

Animals in general tend to be accepting and tollerant of behavior from young that they will not tolerate from adults. Possibly the change you are seeing in their relationship is b/c Rambo’s beginning to lose patience with peanut now that he’s getting to be a teenager.
