Sometimes my bunny’s ears both stand up. Some days only his right ear falls over. Once in a while he can’t seem to keep either up! It seems like they are down more often lately and I wonder if they lop more because they’re getting heavier as he grows. Is it a mood thing? Will they continue to lop more over time? Is this a common thing?

Bunnies can be partially lopped. They can have one uppy ear and lopped ear, helicopter ears, and such. Lopping is a trait that develops with age. Typically bunnies that will be true lops develop it within a few weeks from birth, but partial lops can wait till they are much older before it becomes noticeable.

Yep, partial lopping is common in lop mixes. It isn’t anything to worry about, really. And I happen to think helicopter ears are adorable. ^_^

He may end up completely lopped but as mentioned some buns end up with Helicopter Ears (which is highly adorable)

We dont have lop bunnies in India, so sometimes I pull my Moshu’s ears down for a few seconds She’s a florida white/polish white. Not sure. She looks adorable with lop ears ^^

I too think helicopter ears are amazing

Bramble had stick up ears when we got him, then one started coming down sometimes and eventually he developed helicopter ears but could never fully lop them. over the last few months he has been able to do a full lop when he wants and he is a year and a half which I thought was quite old for a change like that, I googled it and it turns out its not uncommon in half-lops like him. He keeps them mostly up but when he is really chilled out he will lop, he looks so cute because I am used to seeing him either up or helicopter.

Thanks guys. So there is not really any guessing what ears he’ll have in the end but it isn’t a big deal anyways He’s still my snuggle bunny.
