Hello every one, I’m new to this site and to rabbit parenthood. Right now it is just me and Binky (Skywalker) my albino lion head mix-breed (I like to call her a Muppet, she super fluffy). How I came to become a new rabbit mum, was shortly after my beloved ferret passed away and I was ready to take on a new fluffy loved one. My mom and I called our vet to see if they had any pets in need of a loving home or if they could suggests any little critters that would fit in to our home. They suggested a rabbit, for a few mounths I did my research and thought hard if I was ready for a rabbit. I did the same when I first got my ferret, I like to know what I’m getting in to when I take on an animal; its only fare to them and me to know as much as I can. In between the passing of my ferret and getting Binky, we got guinea pigs. It didn’t work out well as the piggy I got, didn’t bond well with me; luckily she took better to my sister and is under her care now. A little after that the pet store I normally went to for pet food had rabbits, each week I would see them and say hi. In till one day my sister who took on the guinea pig bought me the last rabbit they had at the time. I know its better to go through adoption but I don’t regret getting her, Binky and I bonded well and she has taken a place in my heart. Sadly my cat  Dutch who I had the pleasure of caring for, for 17 years had come to the end of his stay with us in this world. He past shortly after Binky came to live with us, I am very much an animal person and I loved every animal that I have cared for. It was heart braking to say goodbye to him, but I think I’d be worst off after his passing if I didn’t have Binky to care for.

Binky is about 9 months old, the vet and I are not sure what breed she is but know she must have some Lion head in her. She was just spayed only a week ago and is doing great. She is a sassy little thing and owns every thing in the house including me. She gets along well with my sister’s cat, they are all most best friends. She enjoys running high speed back and forth in the living room, and she hates my brother oddly. We don’t know why. He has never hurt her or even lifted a mean finger at her, other than him she likes every one in the house.
I have gone on enough, I look forward to posting, and going deeper in to the rabbit hole of rabbit care taking.

Welcome to BB! I’m sure you’ll be able to find lots of information on here. Everybody is always so nice and helpful to each other.
I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds like Dutch had a long and happy life with you. We lost our cat last month.
