Hi everyone. I just got home from work. Oliver finished his greens from breakfast and his hay during the day. I usually give him a small snack when I get home. However, today he didn’t want it. To make sure he was OK, I offered him his favorite treats. He didn’t want those either. His something this is making soft noises and he’s pooped a few small poops. So I’m confused. Should I be worried?

          I’m sorry he’s unwell.

12 hours of no eating/pooping and/or tooth grinding (indicating pain) will require vet attention. GI upset can become serious quickly. Not trying to worry you but if you are in doubt, the vet is best.

          Is he lethargic as well?

You can try giving simethicone for gas pain (1ml every hour for 3 hours and then 1ml every few hours after that ) and gentle tummy massage.

No he’s acting totally fine and I’ve seen a good chunk of poops. Just has no interest in eating…that’s why I’m confused.

You might have poop now but if he doesn’t eat you won’t have it for long. I recommend a vet visit and getting hold of some CC so you can start feeds to keep his gut moving. You have caught it early so if you can get food into him and get some motility drugs from the vet and have his teeth checked you could prevent it from becoming a serious bout of stasis.

Give him a little tummy rub perhaps?

I know it’s not yet 3 months since he had his (tiny) molar spurs done, but maybe they’ve returned?

He just went to the vet yesterday because of his ear episode. Got the all clear on his teeth. He’s on antibiotics and just hasnt been super interested in food the entire time. He did eat 3/4 of his dinner. So until he’s off the meds I’m going to assume it’s because of those.

It could be the abs, abs have GI side-effects. Sending some vibes for the little guy! (((((Oliver)))))

Guess who ate all his breakfast and a bunch of hay… And was apparently very active while I was at work??

I hope he continues to improve!
