Lux is starting to bite more and its really making me upset.  I try to let her run around but she keeps biting the carpet and movies and the couch and anything then when i pick her up and pet her she bites my chest through my shirt.  I love her but shes starting to really annoy me with this crap.  How do I stop this. Could she of bit me cause i picked her up when she was binking and playing?  i picked her up casue she kept chewing the carpet.

Not much you can do really until she is spayed. You can discourage the behavior by telling her “no” and turning your back to her. This tells her that you’re displeased with what she’s doing. If she is biting you, some people have luck with squealing like a bunny in pain to let them know they are hurting you. Her behavior is likely fueled by hormones though, so it may be difficult to get the message across if she isn’t spayed.

I second LBJ. Could you get something to cover the carpet with so she doesn’t chew it?
Raging hormones in any mammal who’s hitting puberty may cause unwanted behavior, such as aggression. But bunnies may bite for other reasons than aggression. Sometimes they like to dig at your clothes and nip and that might be a form of grooming or just exploring, it may also be impatience from being held too long. Whatever the reason, it still hurts of course.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that she’ll be trouble now for some time, but it’s not her fault, she’s not doing it on purpose and it’s not spite or meanness on her part. It’s just part of her growing up. Spaying often helps an enormous lot, but she’s of course still too young to be spayed yet.

A cut open cardboard box works well for my buns, put it over the area you don’t want chewed, and if possible, weigh it down. I use a big brick, which they also like to stand on! This works for bookshelves as well as for carpets. If its a corner area, try putting a haybox/litter tray there.

When this was first set up, months ago, the cardboard came out nearly to the end of the box. It’ll need replacing before long, but has saved my carpet! NB dont forget to remove any tape or staples. My bunnies love the tape and it can’t be good for them. I’m not keen on them eating cardboard, but it has got to be better than a tum full of carpet, or constantly telling them off!
