I read somewhere that popsicle sticks are good chew toys for small animals. So I bought some, but the package doesnt say if they are treated. So I googled to make sure they’re untreated. I found several message board links concerning the safety of popsicle sticks. Were these just a waste of money then? I also found 100% natural Jute string. Is this suitable for bunny toys?

untreated jute twine I believe is pretty safe, but you may have to look further into that. For popsicle sticks, I think that’s really based on opinion. When popsicle sticks break, they often times splinter, which can be both a choking and safety hazard for the little fragile buns.

I always though Popsicle sticks were totally safe if untreated. Jute is good, so is sissel (though I have no clue how to spell it!)

I think popsicle sticks are fine. Popsicle sticks are generally made of beech so they won’t splinter easily or you’d get splinters in your tongue when you ate a popsicle and few people would enjoy that.
I give my buns twigs and small branches from bunny safe trees all the time. Bunnies can chew many types of wood.

That said I don’t know if bunnies would enjoy popsicle sticks. But that’s a whole other issue.

I wanted to make him a hanging toy, out of paper and cardboard strips, and the sticks. Something like a pinecone shape sort of thing. I saw it on youtube, looked fun.

Will definitely do that. I just have to figure out how to make holes in the sticks. Ive also never figured out how to do pics on here. Hence the absence of Mr Binkins face.

I think you’ll have to drill holes.

As for pics: you need to have a pic that’s is no bigger than 500 Kb. If your pic is bigger, you can down-size it in Paint or you can use a free program like VarieDrop.
Then you write a new post, post it, then go back and edit it. You click on the arrow to the far right in the field that says Attachments at the bottom of the page. Then you’re able to upload your pic. Then choose Insert image, and your pic will be inserted into your post.

I hope it doesn’t sound too complicated! We’d love to see pics of Mr Binkins!
