So I was wondering my 10 1/2 week old luxy girl home alone a lot since we both work a lot but I take her out all the time to play and run around whenever I am home. I was wondering if I were to get another female rabbit and have them both in the same cage do you think this would benefit lux so she’s not bored maybe and has a companion to cuddle with? Or is this a bad idea? She is a mini satin. Any ideas on how to do this properly and maybe what kind of bunny to get?

I wouldn’t do that, first your bunny needs to be spayed and have time to recover from that. After she’s recovered I wouldn’t get another female they are harder to bond together…not that it’s impossible because bunnies bond by personality not gender but you’d probably have better luck with a male

*for example I have 2 male bunnies bonded, they are best friends they are both neutered and one rescue wouldn’t let me get a male bunny because I already had a male bunny and they said that they would never bond together so I had to go to a different rescue*

If you do get another bunny make sure that they are neutered/spayed *consider rescuing because they already come that way and you can let your bunny meet them and choose their friend* but you don’t want to try bonding before they are fixed because their smells change and if they are bonded BEFORE they are fixed then the bunny gets fixed and there is a problem if that makes sense.

Also types of bunnies don’t matter neither does size, my holland lop *3 pounds* is bonded to a rex *6 pounds* so it doesn’t really matter to them.
