As most bunny owners, I’m very aware of what to look out for with my buns and know all about the dreaded head tilt…

This is the second time my new bunny has tilted her head slightly, but it’ll only be for a couple of seconds and then her head will be back upright?

I guess my question is, is this an early sign of head tilt, or are bunnies able to tilt their heads without it being a reason to panic? Is she just curious about something, or is this going to be a trip to the vets?

Bunnies can tilt their heads. Kieko has scared me a few times! Her condo is right next to a bedroom doorway and I’ve walked by and found her sitting with her head tilted. Scared me until I realized she’s kindof craning her neck to be nosy and see what’s going on down the hall!

So a slight tilt for a few seconds is most likely a curious bunny.

Oh thank god! My other bunny never tilts his head, so it’s not something I’m used to seeing and knowing all about head tilt, it gave me a good panic!

I’ll definitely keep an eye on her but I feel much better knowing it’s likely to be curiosity!

My bun Potamus does this and she’s usually up on something and looking toward the door. I think its the way they can look most direct? (given that they cannot see right in front on the nose).

It does make me paranoid sometimes though as her mum Maple developed head tilt so I’m a bit wary. But shes been doing this a long time so I need to relax!

Oh, my bun usually does it when she’s up on my bedside table which is opposite the door? It’s her new favourite place to loaf! Maybe it is a thing they do?

I took her to the vets for her vaccinations and he gave her a quick health check and said she’s perfectly fine, and you would think that would put my mind at ease… Yet here I am, still worrying! She’s currently sitting opposite me and tilting her head!
