I’ll admit I’ve spent WAY too much time online looking at the Maze Haven and the Cottontail Cottage.  I can’t decide.  As much as I would like to buy both, financially I just shouldn’t right now.

Which do you and your buns like better?  Any comparisons/contrasts to the two?

Gizmo is pretty relaxed, and enjoys his down time just loafing around, but definitely likes to get up and run too when it’s play time, so I can see him using both in different ways.  We’ve supplied him with lots of toys that he just isn’t interested in (willow balls, chew sticks, etc.), the only things he really likes are toilet paper rolls and his grass mat, so I’d like to get him something to explore more and play with/in since he doesn’t seem like a ‘toy’ bunny.

        Thanks

The maze haven is more versatile than the Cottontail Cottage because it can be reconfigured with different “pathways” inside and can be set up as one big level or a two level unit. You can also buy replacement panels as needed. So, if you can only get one or the other, I’d go with the maze haven.

My buns prefer the Cottontail Cottage but they are both 8 years old. They kind of just waste the maze because they just use it to hide in. The cottage they like to hop up and down the layers, well to the second floor anyways. In their earlier years, they would jump up and down all the floors like crazy. The cottage takes up less room so that is a plus.

Hmm. I have both the Mini Haven and the Cottontail Cottage. Of the two, my bun seems to prefer the Cottontail Cottage. He lounges on top of it and hops into the second story. Since he’s such a little bun, I think lying on it makes him feel bigger. I did get the Mini Haven first, and I put it in a two story configuration, which I took apart when I got the Cottontail Cottage. He also enjoys running through it and hopping on top of it, but I regret not getting the regular sized, because from what I’ve heard, it’s slightly more versatile. You really couldn’t go wrong with either one, but I think I would recommend the Maze Haven, because of its flexibility.

I have the Mini Maze Haven and Ox adores it! He doesn’t really play on it or chew it, it’s more his sleeping spot. The bottom level is where he goes into deep sleeps and the second level is his napping/something’s frightened me spot.

Thanks for the replies! I’m still a bit undecided. Gizmo is 4.8 lbs. so I think he’d fit comfortably in both.

I am leaning towards the cottage for a couple of reasons. First, it takes up less space. Second, he’s more of a lounge type bunny so I worry that he just might not use the maze for what it’s geared towards, running around. I can see him just using it as a hiding/sleeping space, which he already has some of those in our home, and the cottage can be used that way.

Like LittlePuffyTail said, I can see the maze being a waste because Gizmo would probably just hide and sleep in it. I ordered a tunnel for Gizmo to have to, so between that and the cottage he should be a happy bun

If your bunny likes to lounge I would get the cottage. I have gotten 2 and my bunnies practically live in their cottage. They love it. Mine are 2 and and 2 and half. I have not bought the maze due to space issues so I can’t say which is better between the two. I know that my two love the cottage. I have also bought several hopper’s hide aways in the past and made different shapes with the pieces. They love the hide aways just as much. I really like things my bunnies will actually use. I would highly recommend those items for sure!

Cottage is ordered!  I do feel like with my bun’s personality we’ll get the most use out of the cottage.  Maybe I’ll buy him the maze as a Christmas present since I’d still like to try it for him at some point
