Took Olly to the vets, I thought he had a hearing problem, I was worried, the vet said he was not deaf and very very healthy, she said he may have just be interested in something and not paying attention, after he gave the vet bunny kisses he got in his box and we went home, I wanted to watch Laurel and Hardy films, old black and white comedy films for those who have never seen them, well the 2 characters were as some know Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, in one film Stan whistled to get Oliver’s attention, I noticed Olly put his ears up, then on the film Stan said. “Hey Ollie look at this.” Olly was looking around and throwing boxes about, Then on the film Stan said. “Ollie take a look at this.” Well my little precious Olly ran over to the PC jumped up and laid on the desk and looked at the screen, I moved my chair so Olly would not slip off the desk and if he did he would fall onto my lap, well every time Stan Laurel said. “Hey Ollie.” Olly sniffed the speaker, so I know now he isn’t deaf

Why did you think he was deaf?

Because sometimes when I call him he doesn’t come to me like he used to, I have been advised by the vet to retrain him and it shouldn’t be a problem now he is calm again.

Most rabbits have selective hearing. You call their name, they feel there’s no reason to come unless treats are involved.

I second LBJ. I know mine are not deaf because they come when I shake the treat jar. If I just call Bam’s name when he’s asleep in some corner, he will as a rule not respond. So I arm myself with the treat-jar when I go looking for him =)

                I’m glad Ollie isn’t deaf =)
