Hi. My rabbit is 7.5 weeks old and weighs 1.15lbs. The exotic vet we took her to (for a suspected mite infestation) prescribed and administered a whole kitten/puppy dose of Revolution to her. He said no re-dosing is necessary but I went home and read otherwise on many sites.

He gave it to her on Monday and it is now Wednesday, and while I have been looking at it with optimism, I can’t say there’s an undeniable decrease in my bunny’s itching/scratching. How long does it usually take for Revolution to work its magic? Or, how long did it take for your bunny(s)?

Should I ask for a re-dose? If so, about how many days/weeks should I wait in between the first and second dose?

Thanks for reading! I’d appreciate any responses

It takes a little while for the medication to spread throughout their body. Then the mites have to die and the skin has to heal. So a couple of days with little improvement doesn’t mean anything. It is true that bunnies metabolize Revolution more quickly, but I wouldn’t be running for a second dose yet. If a second dose is required after a few weeks, then it can be applied at that time.
