So I got a new bunny named Lux I want to make sure everything goes right for her.  As some of you know I lost a little 10 1/2 week old Dwarf Netherland bunny who developed bloat and couldnt get her glucose to stay up a week and a half ago and I just dont want anything to happen to this little girl. So a couple questions.

        1. Right now she eats 90% timothay hay not alfalfa.  I heard timothy hay was a lot better for her.  I have a little dish filled half way with junior rabbit pellets also.  Is this ok?

        2. She got a 5×5 play pen that she runs around in a few times a day and I also let her run around the apartment is this ok?  Most of the time she is in her cage or on the couch with us.

        3. Shes a little skiddish still.  Will this get better with time?  I know we have only had her for a day and a half but I hope she will let me pick her up out of her cage without running into her home.  Shes such a cutie when she is sitting on the couch with us.

        4. How will I know when she loves me?

        5. It looks like she just puts her face in the water dish and licks her face then.  Is this ok for drinking water??

Thanks guys!!!!  Heres a pic of her for you

          1. Yes, that is perfectly fine.
          2. Yes and you may find she can be trusted with more freedom once she’s older.
          3. It will, but she will trust you more if you don’t pick her up all the time (just when it’s necessary). What type of cage does she have? Can she get in and out on her own? How about making a step for her so she can get up on the couch on her own. My buns would use the dog ramp to get on the couch all the time.
          4. If you are the bringer of food and treats, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with her loving you. Bunnies show their affection in different ways though, especially as they grow into adulthood. Don’t think that she doesn’t love you if she suddenly decides cuddling isn’t the bees knees anymore. She may find other ways to show you affection like licking, nose bonking, seeking out pets, flopping near you, etc. Each bunny is different.
          5. Is her nose going under water? You don’t want her to accidentally inhale the water. Some bunnies do have strange drinking happens, I have noticed. Leopold does this weird thing where he gathers water in his mouth and then spreads it over his chest and shoulders, like he’s giving himself a bath. Weirdo.
