if she only bobs it every once and a while, that’s fine. But if she’s bobbing constantly, that’s not good. If she bobs every once and a while, that means she’s gauging the distance of something. But constant bobbing is not good.

She does it in spurts. Like she will do it 6-10 times in a matter of thirty seconds then stop. It’s mostly only when she’s on the couch around the pillows and climbing all around us

It may be because she needs to know how far the ground is on the couch? I’m not really sure.

Sounds like she is curious, but cautious about something. Like Hercules said, she is probably just checking whatever she is looking at out.

Have only had her 28 hours so
She will probably be like that a lot for a bit

Also she likes putting her face in the water dish then like her lips. Is this an ok way to drink water?

Haha, I guess. Maybe she’s learning to use dish if had sipper bottle previously? I prefer dishes for my bunnies.

The head movement does sound like she’s scoping out the area. They’ll move robotic like, tilt ears forward and bob the head like that.

It sounds like what HerculesandMolasses is describing. I just read an article about this last night. This behavior is most commonly found in red-eyed white rabbits but all rabbits can do it. Although rabbits can see almost 360 degrees around them they have very poor to no depth perception. Things look flat to them. This bobbing behavior is thought to help them gauge distances.

From memory, this doesn’t cover head bobbing or scanning (side to side movement) but it’s a fun guide of some other things you might see your rabbit do.
