Almost every rabbit gets urine stains on their feet or nether area. It’s normal. Don’t try to wash it or trim it because the washing won’t really help and the trimming is ineffective because it grows back. Why must you get rid of it? It’s not like anyone will look.

i understand that it is normal for a rabbit to get urine stains on their feet but my rabbit has a urine on her fur and some of her fur has fallen off and it smells horrible and i hate to see her like this but i think my rabbit might have a urine scald and i was hoping i might get help on what to do to heal the urine scald that she has or do what best for her and take her to a vet.

Rabbits dont really like to be washed.  Why not just bring her to the vet for a check up.  Wouldnt hurt and it will put your mind to ease.

You can try the dry-bath method. Rub pure cornstarch into the soiled fur then brush out. You’ll probably need to do it several times and it won’t completely remove stains but helps freshen up.

If she’s losing fur there she might have urine scald. Sounds like she needs a check up. Is the fur loss around her bottom or on her feet?

I don’t think urine stains are normal. You might get that occasionally when a bun has peed on ground and sat in it or hopped through it. But generally, it indicates inadequate litter material or an underlying health problem. One of my rabbits gets staining and that’s due to her mate spraying her. So she gets some yellowing on her back. But she does a good job of cleaning herself.

I agree with Jersey. Sounds like a vet needs to investigate.
