My bunny started acting quite oddly this morning. He didn’t seem interested in anything I was doing including giving him his feed and a slice of tomato(normally he flies around the cage anytime I mess in his area). He wouldn’t eat either(and tomatoes are a fav). He jumps up and down his shelves(slowly though and not often)and i checked his body so I ruled out broken bone/sprain. He doesn’t act himself(he actually let me reach in and pet him without jumping into his litter box). I immediately thought GI or fur block, but as I was watching him, he pooped in his litter box. And they were normal sized/colored. And he was also eating throughout the night(hay and a small piece of banana) He also seems to be sitting hunched in the opposite way of normal hunching (instead of is back being upside down u shaped, its slightly upright u shaped) I’m not sure at all what the deal is…..

I think it best you consider getting him checked out by a vet. Rabbits hide illness extremely well, so a change in behaviour like this tells us something is wrong.

Does it look like he is pressing his tummy to the floor?

He jumps up and down his shelves(slowly though and not often)

Do you mean he is doing this more slowly and less often then normal?

Try to give him a gentle tummy massage. Elevate his butt slightly so any gas can escape. You will also be able to feel if his tummy is distended. If he hasn’t drunk anything, you can syringe him water. I agree with jersey that a vet should be contacted if this has been going on for several hours.
If you have access to baby gas drops (simethicone) you can give him that , it’s bunny safe and may help if it’s gas.

I had been thinking possible gas or tummy discomfort too, going by that posture. But worried he might be cradling and injury also. Sitting differently because it hurts to sit in the usual manner?

@jersygirl yes he does seem like he may be pressing his tummy to the floor.
And not slower than normal, more like less than he normally does.
I checked him over for any injuries and didn’t see or feel anything. He seems to be doing a little better in the last 2 hours as he has eaten his tomato and isnt sitting so oddly.
I’ll try the tummy massage thing.
I’m also going to give a mix of medicinal herbs someone told me about(lemon balm and rosemary) as well as some pumkin. Thanks so much! I’ll let you know what happens!
