How wet can a rabbit get before its an issue?

I am sure he is fine but Tenzin got a face full of water when he headbutted me while I was filling his bottle. which led me to ask just for future reference.

Well, I think it’s not a big issue really – you don’t want to bathe your rabbit but a rabbit getting wet accidentally isn’t a problem….it’s not necessarily the getting wet but the bathing that is not recommended.

What makes the bathing so different? The use of soaps? full submersion? I just want to learn

I would say both. If they are soaked all the way through, it’s more difficult to get them dry. And a lot of shampoos are not good for bunny skin too.

Definitely full submergion is when it becomes an issue. Seeing as they can be wiped with moist wipes etc. it shouldnt be a problem if they get a little drizzle on them

Moist wipes are different than even partial submersion though.

I wasn’t worried about him getting a face full of water I was more curious.

I think the whole situation with a bath can be very stressful for them. You hold them down and soak them through and perhaps put shampoo on etc. Really scary for a bunny. Plus if they’re outdoors-bunnies and you don’t dry them before you put them back outside again they could get very cold.

Well how wet can a rabbit safely get?

I never plan to bathe either of them but who knows what they may manage on their own lol.
