So tonight we saw a mouse run under our couch. We read about hanging spoons of peanutbutter over tables with buckets under neath to catch them. Failing that we might try traps next hopefully we can get the sucker. I dont want to like use gasses or poisons becuase im worried about Basil. Does anyone have any advise? We had a bad month of pests here first we found a killed what assumed was a roach and terminex put down a bunch of pet safe traps for us and sprayed the kitchen. Havent had any new roaches and our traps are still all clean from that day, but now this mouse… just having a tough time with it all.
        thanks in advance.

What about those little live traps? They are like a little teeter totter, you put pb and cracker on one side and when he goes in, the door closes. I’ve used these before. They are grey plastic and you can buy them at any hardware store.Just make sure to take him far enough away to drop him off that he can’t find his way back into your house.

We had a mouse in our basement recently. My cat killed it and I felt bad. I don’t want them in my house but I don’t want them to die either.

Sometimes opening the main door they will smell the outside and run outside

This was what I was told by Pest control.

We use this one.  Works great, always have the mouse caught before 1am.

Our mice aren’t into peanut butter, they all seem to want chocolate.  (Why we go months and month between mice and the new ones are always chocolate addicts I can’t explain.)  So, we use Nutella as bait.

I’ve heard good things about the Tin Cat Live Mouse Trap.

Things to remember if you’re using a live mouse trap:

Always wear vinyl or latex gloves when handling the trap and wash your hands thoroughly when you’re done. Mouse droppings can carry a lot of diseases.

                Check the trap every day.

When you release the mouse, make sure you take it at least a mile away, or else it could end up back in your house.
