In my attempts to find a great rabbit-savvy vet, how far can I expand my search? I’m willing to drive quite far but I have to be reasonable because I don’t want to place the undue stress of a long drive on a bun who is potentially sick or injured. So how far is too far?

The vet I drive my rabbits to is about an hour away. There are rabbit doctors closer to me but the shelter I adopted my second rabbit from has had firsthand great help from the vet that’s an hour away so we make the longer drive. Honestly, a drive is gonna stress out the rabbit no matter what. I would say an hour an a half would be my limit, but if a longer amount of time will guarantee your rabbit the best help it can receive then I think it’s worth it.
(However, if it’s an emergency I might look for rabbit doctors close by, even if they’re not THE BEST, I’d search for rabbit trained vets close just in the rare case of your rabbit needing help as soon as possible.)

We drove 3 hours with our first rabbit! There was a rabbit savvy one about 2 hours away, but we really clicked w/ the one 3 hours away.
