Well, I’ve been working on bonding my two spayed females. I thought they were doing well. Sky (the dominant bun) had started grooming Silvia and everything seemed to be going right along as it should. I moved them into a large 16 panel pen today. So far, whenever Silvia has attempted to get any attention from Sky, Sky runs away. What’s going on? Should I be concerned? Or let them hatch it out themselves??

If they’re not fighting, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Keep an eye on them though just to be sure they don’t start scrapping. It can take time before they want to snuggle together all the time. Two of mine have been together their entire lives and they occasionally avoid each other.

Are Sky and Silvia penned together now?

How long have you been bonding and is this their permanent living area? Whenever you go to a bigger space it usually changes their behavior up a bit during the bonding time. I think too if they aren’t fighting I would just keep an eye on them. Also its a bigger space Sky may want to have some space an check out the area. My two don’t always spend time together. They have their times where they snuggle and love on each other but then they also have time sleeping and such on their own.

They had been bonding for a few weeks. The pen is where they are when I’m not home and at night.
