Had my rabbit around 5 days now, just wondering when I should start with the litter training? She poops all over her cage, she doesn’t seem to have a specific poo corner like I read online.

I think you should start right away! Put some of her poop and something she’s peed on in a litterbox. If you have bedding in her cage, take it away and use bedding only in the litter-box, that helps too. If you see her pee outside the box, try to put her into the litterbox (gently) so she gets the idea. If she persistently pees in some other spot outside the litterbox, move the litterbox to that spot after cleaning the spot with vingar and water.

          Congratulations to your new bunny!

Congratulations on your bunny! I’m sure that you will love being a bunny owner.

Bam offered some great tips for litter training. I started training my rabbit a few days after I got him, and like you, he didn’t have a designated poop corner and went pretty much everywhere. He calmed down a bit after he was more used to his surroundings. It’s possible that your bunny is marking her territory right now, and that’s why there are more poops all over. Hopefully, she’ll warm up to the litter box once she recognizes her scent there.

I did exactly what Bam suggested and it worked really well. I think the age of the bunny has something to do with it and whether or not it’s fixed yet. I think when the bunnies are under 4 months, it can kind of be a free-for-all as far as the poop goes. If the bun is peeing in a spot that’s not workable for you slowly move the litter box towards a better spot but not too far at once. I also blocked off the spot that one of my bunnies chose as I moved the box. I moved it just a few inches at a time every day over the course of a week and it worked great. Thankfully, bunny pee is not like cat pee.

Yes, start right away! Ur bunny might develop bad habits and barely use litter box. Put a litter box in a corner and put all its hay on one end. Rabbits do their business while eating. Remember don’t use triangle shape litter box, use cat litter pan. Ur rabbit will hop in to eat and do its business aswell. U can expect a few poops here and there, especially when they are babies. If ur bun is still not going in, try switching corners. As ur bun gets better potty trained then u can put more hay in feeder. I hope this works for u, it worked for my bunnies when they were babies. Good luck!

I put hay inside of the litter box when I started my rabbit on litter training. She took it on like a cat! It was almost immediate and she wasn’t even fixed yet. Rabbits love to eat and poop like A V said. Good luck!
