I’m having a bit of an issue trimming Lily’s nails.  She BARELY tolerates being held and I’ve tried the bunny burrito, but she panics and tries to kick & bite.  I’m really at a loss of what other technique to try.  My only other options are taking her to the vet (costly of course) or the pet groomers (they do rabbits), but when I took Ziggy there I could tell he was freaked by the smell of all the dogs in the room.

Will she sit still on the floor or on a pillow on your knee? I had terrible trouble cutting Brambles nails, he would really freak out so I took him to the vet and they sat him down facing away from them and just lifted his feet up one by one and cut. I thought it looked to easy if I am honest but now we sit Bramble on a pillow on one of our laps (he will tolerate this but you could get down on the floor instead if your bun wont) and lift each foot in turn to cut. You can tell he is not keen on the back ones being done, but he puts up with it.

I’ve started trimming Ox’s nails on top of the washing machine. The combination of the pet carrier and the top of the washing machine makes him nervous enough that I can handle his feet.

Thanks! I noticed she does let me touch her feet when she’s on the floor. If that doesn’t work I’ll try the washer.

Do you have anyone to help rayray? Hubby holds one bun tight to his chest with bun facing me. Then I gently pull out one paw at a time and clip. Rocky, who HATES being held and fights vigorously tolerates this when hubby holds him. I think hubby is “top bun” in our house haha.

When we had Boston we would set her on a high counter. Hubby would pet and calm her while I gently pulled out each paw to clip. This won’t work w/ these two, I’m afraid they’d jump!
