Tenzin was neutered Friday and I am just wondering when the post – neuter hormone craziness is suppose to start. Because right now he is the same as he has always been other than hiding a bit more. He is great with his litter box, isn’t chewing what he shouldn’t, eats his hay, veggies AND pellets like a champ and drinks plenty …

i had read so much about the post neuter hormones I was fully expecting … more. Though we just may not be there yet I guess.

It doesn’t happen to all bunnies, but it seems to begin 1 to 2 weeks post-neuter (sometimes even later).

I really don’t remember any crazy hormones with either of my boys I’ve had fixed.

I got Hugo neutered about a month ago, and he (knock on wood!) hasn’t had any crazy post-neuter behavior. He was four months old when he was neutered and hadn’t been displaying many signs of puberty aside from excessive chinning, so that may be why.

                    How old is your bunny?

Kitty, it would be more helpful for you if you started your own thread

Kitty – Welcome to BB! You would probably have more luck getting answers to your questions by starting a new thread, rather than piggybacking on someone else’s. I does sound like your bunny is becoming hormonal. If you need help starting a new thread, let me know.

Tenzin is still acting like my boy , after the initial being very mad at me phase lol.

He hides a bit more now but that’s certainly not a hormone issue

You might not notice any significant changes. If you do, then know that it will likely be short-lived. And if you don’t and he continues to be his sweet self, then no worries. You will be one of the lucky ones.

He was never a remotely hormonal bun anyway. Even without hormonal rage I am gonna wait a month to introduce my boys

2 weeks in and still nothing. 2 more weeks and I will begin intro’s between my boys. Assuming nothing comes up. Of course before that the new boy is having a check up to confirm gender and that he is healthy.

Tenzin is still Tenzin. My food crazy bunny.
