So we have had our bunny for coming up on 2 months now. After a few weeks and alot of frustration, we finally got her a pen attached to her cage so that as long as we are around she has pretty free movement until bed time or if we go out. So after several weeks of pen life, our bunny was being realy good and we both had the time to supervise we opened her pen and to let her roam the living room like when we first brought her home. To our suprise she made a small foray out but stayed to the carpet area of her pen. We figured she be overjoyed at the freedom since she always seems to be plotting an escape but she just stayed to her area for the most part. It was interesting. This happen to anyone else?

If the other flooring isn’t carpeted, some are wary of that because it’s slippery

No the whole living room is carpet (which we used to let her out on before we got her pen) and her pen area is a rug on top of the carpet. We are thinking maybe shes just used to her space and since she sees the whole room and she has explored most of it in her first weeks here, maybe shes just like “this rug area is my room and i just want to stay in my room” idk it was just interesting

It may take them a while to venture out of a “safe” area.
