Hi everyone, I’ve noticed BunBun has had a wet tail frequently, definitely pee… (yuck). Does anyone else’s bunny have this problem? BunBun drinks an impressive amount and always has a full bowl of water, could he possibly be drinking too much water….? His litter box almost has to be emptied twice a day to stay completely dry but I just don’t have the time to always do that. Just wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent the wet tail? or at least how I could dry him off and not smell like pee without giving him a bath…. right now I’m not to fond of him roaming around my room and spreading his pee everywhere

        thanks!

If BunBun is drinking an excessive amount of water, peeing very frequently and has a wet tail, he could have a urinary infection. So he should be seen by a vet. You could try getting a clean urine specimen to take to the vet, otherwise the vet would have to get it from BunBun.

            How old us BunBun?

What type of litter do you use? You’ll need a really absorbant one if you cannot change the box as frequently.

To freshen him up, dry him off as best possible then rub pure cornstarch into the soiled fur and comb back out. You’ll probably have to do it a few times.

Definitely get him checked out though, as tobyluv suggested.

Thanks, I’ll definitely get him checked out!

He has a big plastic cat litter box filled recycled paper (yesterdays news) that absorbs everything. BunBun is under a year old probably around 7 months? He hasn’t been drinking more than usual, its always been a lot (since I got him 4 months ago) but just recently he has had a wet tail and back feet

I also today decided to see if he might need two litter pans because he does spend time just sitting in the box which might be why he’s wet, so we’ll see how that goes and what the vet has to say!
