My rabbit is a lionhead mini rex, so cute. He is about 4 1/2 months old. 50 percent of the time he will snuggle up next to me and just lie with me and cuddle for hours, other times he wants almost nothing to do with me. He runs away and gets away. Why? I feed him great hay and pellets and veggies. He has a bunny mansion and plenty of time to run as well as alone time. I don’t understand.

There’s not a lot to understand, really. This is just how a normal, healthy, loving bun does things. Bunnies cuddle when they want to cuddle and when they don’t want to, they tell their humans to get lost.

          =)

Mine does that, too. Sometimes he is sweet and cuddly, even follows me around. The next day he absolutely hates me. He runs away or he doesn’t want to be petted. If I touch him he starts whimpering or walks away backward. Weird.

Running away is also just how bunnies play sometimes. They have an instinctive need to practice escape skills.
