Ok, January 26th 2014 my rabbit name bun bun that I got when I was 18 passed away she was 7 years old, she by far was the best bunny I had ever known. What made her the best Bunny is she didn’t act like a bunny, she acted more like a little puppy. I would take her everywhere with me on her little harness and leash we would go to the park and play we would run around she would run up to dogs little and big at the park and go and grunt in their face like she wanted to pick a fight the dogs will usually back down because they didn’t know what was going on but it seems like no matter how loud of a situation we were in it never affected her. I remember she never responded much to sound at home there what time she would be sleeping and I would smash two pans together to see what she would do she would just lay there and sleep and then I would reach out and touch her she would roll over on her back and look at me like “what the hell mom, why are you bugging me”. I even went as far as to take her to this little concert they have at the park down by my house she ran over to the front of the stage where the speakers were and didn’t even raise an ear I was sitting over there and thinking it was too loud for me but not her. Whenever I took her away from there she would run back over she wanted to be over there so I was starting to think that possibly she could not hear and getting close to the speakers that way she could feel the music so it was like a new experience for her. After that I would take her on the bus and the bus can get fairly loud she would just sit in my lap and ride around on my shoulder in the city which is also very loud not even lift in her ears for sounds around her. One situation I remember is we were at the park downtown and for some reason a helicopter came and circled around then lowered at the park making a lot of noise and a lot of wind helicopters are very very loud! Once again bun bun did not react at all she just stay there until she noticed the wind blow and then she looked over at the helicopter not even phased by the sound. She was a registered service animals so she would go everywhere with me I eventually learned that there seems to be no noise too loud for her so she would even go to actual concerts with me and once again never raised in ear she did not care about loud noises. Do you think it’s possible that she just could not hear at all?

Another interesting thing about her she despised hey and all rabbit food she was the type of Bunny that found a way to get into everything and she would take every piece of junk food I had if I had a piece of pizza and I look away for two seconds it would be gone if I have a bag of gummy candy and I take my hand out of the bed for 2 seconds she goes darting away with the bag if I don’t give her what she wants or if I did not give her what she wanted she would curl up in a little ball next to me and start making squeaking noises and look at me like I had just hit her. Why do you think she refused to eat rabbit food? I know a lot of you are going to say this is bad but she would eat human food and every time she went to the vet she was completely healthy no clogs and her stomach no problems however when I tried to get her on a proper Bunny diet she would start to get sick am I the only one that finds this a bit odd? She was originally a neglected Bunny that was mostly just fed with garbage that had been left over and thrown in her cage which was really sad so I don’t know if maybe she had just somehow adjusted to a poor diet can anybody explain this?

This Bunny also hated other rabbits or other animals that would come to me if I would touch another animal or even look at another animal she would jump in front of me and that other animal and grunt and circle around me and try to chase the other animal away no matter how big it was like she was jealous why is this?

she also enjoyed playing fetch and tag at the park a lot of people say this is not typical rabbit behavior and I have to drive it’s now that behave like a normal Bunnies so I’m starting to see that this is true she also seemed to enjoy actually going swimming! If I was in the pool she would jump in after me then do a little bunny paddle over to me I’ve had videos and pictures of it on my computer it always struck me as very weird especially since people say keep rabbits out of water but for some reason she wanted to be in water if I was in it too can anybody explain the reasons for her behavior like this?

I know these are late questions but these are just things I’ve always wondered about her because I could never ask her herself so maybe some money savvy people out here would be able to explain their ideas on behaviors.

yes I do know that there will likely never be another rabbit that behave this way my other bunnies are going to be raised as Bunny I’m not going to try to introduce them to her lifestyle because I know that was something only she would enjoy. I am happy knowing that she pretty much travel the world with me for the 7 years I had her so she lived a full life.

Sadly I was not aware that uterine cancer could cause problems for female buttons cuz she was my first rabbit the death of her was uterine cancer because I didn’t realize how important getting a rabbit spayed really was.

I suppose it’s possible. I will note that Leopold has never made a noise that I’m aware of. Wooly grunts and makes all kinds of bunny noises, but not Leopold. I think because he is deaf, he doesn’t know how to make sounds.
