I am adopting a rabbit from our local rescue and they will be bonding him with my female rabbit as they have much more experience with bonding than I do. Although I am excited for bringing the little guy home with my girl I am nervous about putting them both in the existing hutch and run which my female has been using as I don’t want her to get territorial once they are back in her familiar space. We are currently building a new run on the patio space which neither rabbit will have been in before but it will be attached to the girls run on the grass and her hutch. What is the best way to ensure she doesn’t become territorial about her hutch? I will obviously be giving it a thorough clean before they both get back here and I plan to move everything around but does anyone have experience with this or suggestions on how to make their return home as easy as possible?

        Thanks

I suggest putting them in neutral territory only for a while after you bring them home. It’s pretty likely she will become at least somewhat territorial. Cleaning and moving stuff around might help but myself I would start off completely neutral and then maybe gradually let them have time in “her” area and see how it goes.
