Contact your vet again or better yet, go to another vet. It sounds like the first vets misdiagnosed him. Did they do an X-ray to see if the leg was broken? It sounds more serious to me than sth that can be remedied with massage. In any case he clearly needs pain meds like metacam, or sth heavier.

I think this should be done before you try and clean him. A bunny with a soiled rear end can be given a butt bath, but if he has a broken leg, this would be incredibly painful for him, so it’s best if you contact a vet first.

Take him to another vet with rabbit knowledge. It doesn’t sound like he was given appropriate care at all.

This vet didn’t give him a shot of pain relief?

Give it some pain killer pills with recommendation of doctors and then do a massage because in my point of view massage is the only way to heal it.

There is very little you can do yourself really, since prescription pain meds are required. You need to see to it that he keeps eating and drinking. Pain can make them stop eating and that is very dangerous for a bunny, they must never have an empty stomach or their intestines stop moving.

Recommendation of a vet you mean?

HAZELbun, be careful with meds as some will lower body temperature which will be very risky for a rabbit that in shock. I can’t stress this enough.
A vet will be able assess his temperature and then give appropriate meds.
If you don’t have other vets, go back to the one you saw and ask for further care. You’ll need to be the advocate for your rabbit.
