Hi so this is my first time on this forum. I have a 12 week old Flemish giant rabbit that I was told by his? Breeder was a male. I have had
Trouble for a month now and by what I’m reading online it doesn’t look like troubles a boy. Trouble has a small dewlap and nothing ” down there ” yet so I don’t know. Please help. Thanks

Large breeds mature later than small breeds so you may not see anything yet. The link below is the best one I’ve found so far. Be sure to click on the boy and girl links for more specific pics. I found this when my first bun was a baby and we were right on the sex of all three. Round opening is a boy and slit/line opening os a girl.

I have a large male (Rupert) and he’s got quite the dewlap so don’t let that fool ya Best to check with your vet when you get your exam -and don’t worry-many an owner has booked a spay and received a neuter or vice versa-it can be hard to tell and your vet will do the right procedure regardless of what you book!

I had the same worries as you about my rabbit. His name is Hugo, so I was concerned that I would have to completely change his name. Fortunately, the vet confirmed his sex. Here’s another link that has some helpful explanation about why it can be difficult to tell even when they are old enough: http://www.pet-informed-veterinary-…bbits.html (it does include several pictures, just FYI). But Trouble might not be old enough just yet.

My male, Porky, can suck his dangly bits up inside him. He lets it all hang out when he’s relaxed at home, but for the vet they completely disappear. So not seeing them doesn’t mean much, especially at his age.

ETA: I just realized the way I worded it, it sounds like I’m saying that sucking the testicles up into the body is a special thing Porky does.  I was just trying to use him as an example of what all bunnies do.  All males can hide them completely if so inclined.

Lol. Well it is a pretty neat trick Eepster. Let Porky own it.

I can remember Moshi doing that! The vet said Moshi could be neutered as soon as his testacles descended so I was on the lookout. Someone suggested using a mirror so I laid a mirror on the floor — nothing! I thought I had gotten a glimpse of them, but the one time I tried sneaking a small hand-held mirror under Moshi, he visibly clenched, gave me a look that said “wth?!”, and foot flicked!
