Hi! My baby bunny Houdini (because he escapes) only has one eye open right now. He is about 10 weeks old. One eye is completely fine but his left eye is almost completely closed shut. What should I do to reopen it?

Sydnee, this sounds like an injury to the eye. He probably bumped into something or scraped it on something. When a bunny has an injury involving their eye, they will often hold it closed and it will water. It would be best to take him to the vet to have it examined. They can put dye in the eye to help illuminate the injury to make sure it isn’t too serious. Your bunny will likely need medication. Most of the time, these types of injuries are easy to treat and medication doesn’t cost a lot of money. But even small injuries that are not too serious to begin with can turn into a big problem if left untreated.

Definietly the vet, he may require drops or ointment to heal the eye or to allow it to open properly. Has it been fully open at any stage ?
