Hello, I recently adopted a male baby holland lop, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get him a friend as a baby (it would be a male) and if they would have any difficulties as adults or babies, I am planning to neuter my current bunny and his friend if I were to get him one, Marvin is a little shy and doesn’t really like to be pet or touched in general and I’m wondering if I were to get a more outgoing bunny if that bunny would help bring him around and he’d like to socialize more, or if he would only socialize with the bunny and get even more timid. Is it a better idea to get him a friend now that would be a boy, or as he gets older neuter him and get him a girl bunny friend who is spayed?

        Thank you

        -Marvin and Maddy

I suggest you wait until you’ve neutered your boy and then bring him to a rescue or shelter (if they will allow) and let him pick his own buddy. It’s usually easier bonding if bunny gets to pick his own buddy.

Yeah that would be the easiest way to do it. Thanks!
