I was supposed to pick this little guy up on the 14th but after Ollie died I needed a little time.

He is a LOT smaller than he appears in the pics. He was severely malnourished when he came in to the shelter.

He is an English Lop of unknown age (vet thinks 10-11 weeks but unknown due to the severity of his malnourishment when he was brought in). His name is Moonshine (the shelter named him). While it is not a name I would have thought of I surprisingly like it and think I will keep it. It suits him. He has been at my local dog/cat shelter for 6 weeks.

He came in as a surrender along with his entire litter and no mom. But luckily they were old enough to be munching on things on their own.

The rest of the litter were fostered or adopted pretty quickly. The shelter wanted to get them out to experienced owners as quickly as possible since they aren’t really equipped for rabbits long term. He was the only one left. And due to his pink eyes he would have likely remained there. And well I am a sucker for lonely animals. Being the only bunny in a shelter full of dogs and cats probably wasn’t fun for him.

He has pretty bad eyesight in both eyes. But that doesn’t stop him from being a total spam.

He loves people. So much that the second his pen door is open he is in your lap or by your feet. I’m thinking he may be a bit hard of hearing but not sure if he is just ignoring everything or he really can’t hear. He is a bit more on the hyper side than Oliver was but still way way more mellow than Gypsy has ever been (seriously I don’t think Gypsy has an off setting).

He hates hay so he has to be tricked into eating any by sprinkling his pellets through it. He is not happy about not getting pellets with lots of little goodies in them.

I am trying to teach him how to drink out of a water bowl but it isn’t working well. Lol. He would much rather try to fit his big butt in the bowl of water than drink out of it.

I’ve had to attach his litter box to the side of his pen. He seems to think it is a throw toy.

Toys are his favorite thing ever. If it even seems like it can be a toy he is down to play with it. I feed one of my dogs canned food. The canned food is stacked beside of the bagged food. He found the cans and knocked them over. And then spent 45 minutes rolling a single can around the dining room floor.

And surprisingly my cat doesn’t hate him. Which is utterly shocking.

He does scanning but it’s not super noticeable. He kind of stands in one spot and seems not to move but you can see his head move a teeny tiny bit.

I am not even going to lie. He will probably be a failed foster if him and Gypsy get along once he gets old enough to be neutered.

These pics are pretty terrible. He is very fast and my camera is on its last legs.

I have had a pretty crappy week but seeing those pictures really made me smile. I want him!

So glad to see this guy with you, and love the “foster fail” comment! As soon as I saw him I thought “yes, he’s home!”!

He is super adorable. I am trying to give him lots of time out of his cage to get used to the layout of the house. He has already given himself a bloody nose because he runs so fast and bangs into things quite hard. His eyesight is really bad. He has learned somewhat to slowdown in some places and nose around.

I am glad you are taking him. He looks so sweet. Hopefully he can learn to slow down a bit so he doesn’t hurt himself again.

So far I’ve got him settled enough that he hasn’t hurt himself again. And the name has grown on me as well.

Beautiful boy. You think the wind shear from those ears would act like an air break and slow him down.
