Soo most time when i’m sitting on the floor with my bun sometimes she will come at me and push my uncle with her forehead.I thought that she wanted me to pet her but almost every time i tried to she just goes away and do something else. What is she trying to tell me?? Usually she wants to be petted when near a wall so she can lean towards it and then lie down completely.

Head butts can mean “pet me”, “hey, I’m right here!”, “I wanna treat”, “move, you’re in my way”, “I want to sit there, that’s my spot”, “clean my litterbox!”, etc.!

It probably means “move, you are in my way!” My rabbit does this to me and to my mom. When I move out of her way she sassily hops through the space that I just created.

Bunnies do communicate a lot of different sentiments with head-butts =) Pet me, give me a treat, get out of my way – it has to be interpreted in context. Learning rabbit-speak is a long slow process for humans =)

Bindi’s headbutts seem to mean “Hey, I’m here and I want attention” while Olivia’s mean “get out of my way or you will be pummeled.”
