So Frodo Baggins has had his own room/big pen in main room for a couple of years now. Today he had to be moved into my room. Any tips on keeping the smell down? When he used to be caged in my room when I first got him his cage was on top of a table and always next to a cracked window. That was in the old place. Here I do not have the same ventilation.

His hay smells strongly but so does he. Can I use anything on him to help the smell? He is only 3.5 pounds and has a huge litter box. I clean that weekly with vinegar. I use pellet litter as well. I dump all his poos every other day as well.

He will mostly have free reign (loves my bed) but my dog has to get use to him being in his room again. Honestly I am hoping to not have repeats of the kicking fiasco of late 2012. (My dog does try to correct/stop Frodo, but he could care less)

What is the smell? Ammonia, musky, poop? Is his litter box, his cage or him?

              Thanks for the responses.

Frodo died unexpectedly on Friday evening at the hospital. I was going to post later on about it, but I wanted to respond to the replies.

I’m so sorry to read this. It’s terrible to loose your beloved pet.
