I bought my rabbit almost three months ago and she has always been outgoing and curious. She is a 4 month old dwarf rabbit, but she got too big for the cage I originally bought her so just a few days ago I bought her another cage that is bigger and I switched her over to it. Ever since I switched her over to the new cage though she has become skittish to the point that she will not let us hardly touch her unless she is cornered. She will not come to us anymore and she runs away every time we get close. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Okay thank you. I was not sure if I frightened her by changing cages or what.

It sounds a lot like puberty, as Sarita says. Perfectly normal, but not always a breeze. Are you planning to have her spayed? It’s highly recommended with does for health-reasons.

Yes I am planning to have her spayed within the next couple of weeks. I especially do not want her to start getting aggressive.

I think having her spayed will help a lot with her behavior, but you still have to expect some “teen-age”-behavior. All mammals go through a period of “teens”, it’s a natural part of becoming an adult. So try and bear with her during this phase of development =)
