So heres my current problem: Lilith will be 6 months on July 6th. At that point, to my knowledge, she should be using Oxbow adult pellets. So I purchased a 10 lb bag of Oxbow adult pellets and it arrived yesterday. I have started the 75/25 composition for Lilith’s pellets and she seems to be totally fine (both with taste and her tummy). However, I just realized this morning that my supply of baby pellets is getting real low. If I were to switch to 75% adult and 25% baby tomorrow I may have enough for another 1.5-2 weeks.

So heres the question and a TL/DR: When are we supposed to switch rabbits over to the adult rabbit blend? If I have her completely switched by 6 month birthday is that OK? Or should I buy a new 5 lb bag of baby pellets and have her switched by 7 months?

Thanks guy! Also, as a consolation for helping me, I am throwing a sweet 16 for Lilith’s 6th birthday. Pictures to follow!

JMO, but as long as she doesn’t get mushy poop and doesn’t rebel, I would just transition a little faster by adjusting the mix every few days instead of weekly. Since its going from alfalfa based to timothy based and not vice versa, you’re more likely to see rebellion than tummy upset.

I’ve always found when switching pellets they choose one or the other to eat and don’t eat the mix Never had issues so if you are running out of baby food that’s just fine

FYI — picking out the old kind and not eating the new kind is what I call food rebellion! LOL!

Thanks guys. I’ll keep an eye out for if she is not eating them
