Today is a sad day. Delilah passed away Thursday evening in my arms. I am so heartbroken. She was my only girl bunny I had and was my second bunny. She was a little over 7 years old. I knew it was coming this morning but I didn’t expect it to be so soon. She declined very quickly and just a couple days ago she was doing ok but today she just wouldn’t eat or drink and was very lethargic. I was so glad I was home and I could be there with her. I was able to hold her and comfort her when she passed. She was scared and that was the most upsetting part was that she knew she was going and was squealing. I felt so bad for her but the minute I picked her up she totally relaxed. I miss my girl so much. I am so worried about Davey, her soul mate brother, they were inseparable. He seems to be doing ok but I’m watching him. She always had such an attitude when she was young and would always nip and box at you when you touched her. She learned quickly that I was trustworthy and was close with me as she got older. I will miss her dearly. Binky free my sweet girl <3

Oh no…I’m so very sorry to hear that Delilah has left us. :'(
It’s never easy saying goodbye, but I’ve also experienced a pet passing at home in my arms. It can be so very distressing.
Thinking of you and sending hugs for you and Davey. xx

I’ve lit a candle for her here. The site has changed a bit but the candles are still nice looking.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad though that she had the love and comfort of being in your arms when she passed.

Oh Maddie, I’m sorry to hear this.
                Binky Free Delilah!
She had a wonderful home with you. I’ll always think of her as “the milk bun” because of the little white spot on her lip. Like a milk moustache.
(((Cuddles))) for Davey. It’s surprising how well they adapt even when losing a long term mate. I hope he copes well.

Thank you everyone. It is so different going from four now down to two in the last year. Davey is doing well. I am thinking I may try and bond Dennis and Davey, just so they have somebun. Yes, I LOVED her little white spot <3
