Okay our ac is out and down for the count and this summer here in Tennessee has officially started and our unit it seems cannot keep up with the demand of trying to keep the house cool for everyone that lives in it.

I’ve been using ice in bag underneath a terracotta plant thing and its working since Laurana is liking to stay upon it, rather she sits her butt down on it and doesn’t move for hours.  I’ve also been giving her, her salad wet down and then chilled in the fridge for a bit instead of just lightly damp with water. She also has the room fan on high in what is usually the coldest room in the house. The bathrooms are a no go to put her in because they aren’t that cool or get that cold at all during the summer. I’ve also taken my hands and dampened them down a bit and lightly douse her ears.

I don’t have a portable fan or else I would be dousing bedsheet in water and placing it over one side of her pen to keep her cool. I’ve done the ice in the water, she wasn’t a fan of that. I’ve right now got a frozen two liter bottle while making some ice for her terracotta plate.  What else could I do besides outside thinking of the box and placing a damp bedsheet over the opening of her x-pen and letting the ceiling fan do the job.

        Any ideas?

I bought tile flooring to keep in the cage which stays a little cooler. I was also half filling the bottles and freezing them then topping off with fresh water so they basically had a giant ice cube.

You could have a rotation of say tea towels, wet a couple, stick them in the freezer and then when frozen pop them on the floor in your bunnies room, when one is no longer cold, wet it again put it back in the freezer and replace with another one.

            Also something like this…
