I think Olly would like one of these for when I am in the kitchen, or bathroom, but I know he loves his cage full of toys and cardboard to chew and toys, but I think he needs more room, can an X Pen be put so he can get in and out of his cage? I mean like a big semi circle, so he can come out and go in as he pleases, are there any that big so at night he can run about and jump onto my bed? Is bunny safe to be left over night in one of these? I’ll be in the room too, it is wires I’m worried about, he could get hurt, I’m fed up of stuffing pillows under my desk, he knows he can pull them out and I catch him just in time, I know there are nic grids but they are expensive.

What you describe is basically my plan for my bunnies downstairs area when I am unable to supervise him, a play pen (x-pen). And yes I have used a set up where I attached an x-pen to say a dog crate to confine puppies that I am fostering when I am not supervising them.

I can’t see why he couldn’t be left in one overnight.

You might have to buy more than one and connect them together to get them around your bed.

Bramble has a playpen attached to a dog crate which I have recently started letting him stay in overnight. Its a reasonably new set up for him so I started with putting him in the dog crate for a while during the day, then attaching the pen, then letting him sleep in the crate and now its open all the time so he has the full thing. He still gets as much free roam time as we can give him, but he is a bunny that needs constant supervision and I just felt he wasn’t getting enough exercise with the smaller space he used to live in, although we had the playpen it was a hassle to set up and take down all the time so I just went with this set up full time. Bramble does shake the bars sometimes which is the only downside, but he definitely seems much happier having a huge space full time on top of his free roam time.

That is pretty much what I do. I use either some zip ties or latches to fasten them to something heavy, the cage, so they cannot move them too much or squeeze through.
