Goose has really stinky poops, even after being fixed.  I try to clean his litter box daily (when in his cage he only uses the litter box and leaves no other droppings)  If i clean his litterbox every other day he seems to use it freely all day.  When I clean the litterbox sometimes he will go all day without using it… and then when I let him out at night he will either run to the box in the living room or come out and leave a huge amount of poop on the carpet.  I don’t ever put his poop in his cage and after this poop he will start to use either box again.

Any ideas on what to do?

Hmmm….what kind of cage is Goose in? When we first brought Pumpkin home we kept her in one of those pet store cages in her own room (b/c we weren’t sure about chewing/digging) and when we let her out of her cage the first thing she would do is run to the other litter box in her room to pee. I think she just didn’t like being cramped in her cage with her pee.

But it could just be his way of marking his territory. This went on for awhile w/ Pumpkin as well!

Goose has an outdoor hutch which I converted to indoor by putting a replacement dog kennel lining underneath it.  He has plenty of room to hop  in it.  I have included a picture when I had just finished painted it before it was placed on the liner

Also he pushes his litter box under neath the ramp. I’ve tried moving he won’t have.

I’m going with my first hypothesis of him not wanting to poop in the space he lives in.

                That’s a beautiful hutch btw!
