        Hi All!

Our healthy and active 6yr old bun has what feels like a bump…(a hematoma maybe?) on his nasal bone right above his nose…at the level where the corner of his eye is…I noticed it at first because his nose fur had a line that I hadn’t noticed before and when I stroked his nose, it is definitely a bump that I don’t remember feeling before…I pulled the fur back and there is no wound, just normal looking skin…it doesn’t seem to hurt him, he still loves to be petted on his nose/face….he just had a well visit with our vet a couple months ago and she looked in his mouth and said his teeth looked perfect so I can’t imagine its any problem with his teeth…he’s still eating and drinking normally. It kinda seems like he ran into the side of his xpen or ramp or something and has a hematoma but I’m not a vet. . Any thoughts? Was thinking maybe give it another week (it’s been about a week) and then take him in? It hasn’t gotten any bigger or smaller.

        Thanks!

That, my friend, is probably a molt line. My rabbit has it too; it’s just a line on his nose indicating where the fur is gradually molting down his body. No need to worry! To REALLY see if he is molting, try brushing your bunny with a slicker brush. If fur is flying everywhere, you are OK! Hope that helps!
