You all have such beautiful photos of your bunny, how do you do it?  There is a brown blur on all Olly’s photos I’ve taken, no its not ghosts, its Olly throwing Binkies, so is there some secret Night Class Bunny Photography course I don’t know about? Let me see if I can get his one of his pictures on here.
        That’s him on the right.

          My tip:
Only take pics with good/natural bright lighting with no flash. After you have focused the camera by pushing the button half way down. And if you have a dark bun (like mine) it helps to have them against bright colors like yellows and pinks.

Don’t feel bad Pinky. About half the pics I take of the buns look like they came from the horror movie The Ring!

JackRabbit, you mean bunny climbing through TV screen?
Yes Moxie he is dark, I know, no flash for any animal.
But how to make him keep still, I managed to do a profile picture of him in his cage, only because he wanted to come out he was sitting there, waiting lol.

Food. That always works with my bun Moxie. (Literally 80% of the photos I post are her eating or I am holding a treat just out of view of the camera. The other 20% are just good timing.)

                  I agree w/ others.

Food to get bunny to stay still.
Natural light (especially for black bunnies; Rocky looks like a stealthy ninja without the sun; flash makes them horrible).
Take a millions pictures. Just keep clicking and go through later to weed out the bad ones!

Like others have said take a lot of pictures and in good light. I rarely get good pictures of my 2.

A good camera also helps. Bright lighting helps pictures be clear while not using flash. Though I have yet to get any good pictures without flash. So I usually take them from several feet away with the camera zoomed way in.

I can never get good pictures. They either see the camera and stop “being cute” or they come flying over so they can sniff the camera. Yep, those extreme closeups are just dark blurs. =\

I have to be sneaky or else Chester’s reaction to the camera is “gimme, gimme, gimme”. Silly wabitt

Everyone is quite right, good light is the key. Get bunny distracted with food or toys. And get down on their level. I tend to take my pictures lying on the floor and the angle works great.

I also have a DSLR (although a very old one), which helps me have a better control of the photo settings but Chester is also really curious about it. Lately I’ve been using my phone a lot more and pics are a lot blurrier, but Chester don’t run towards it as much.

There is an article we gave a link to on the BB Facebook page last week (scroll down to a week ago Wednesday) on taking bunny pix.

I just played with your pix, and there is a lot you cando in any photo editing program. Just download your pix and open in a basic viewing program then find the edit option. Try any Auto edit first, since they can read problems like lighting and fix it. Then save it. Also, with dark pix, look for a button for contrast or brighten. You usually just slide back and forth, but you want to have less contrast and more brightness. You’d be surprised how much that will improve a pix.

When shooting, set your camera on a fast setting – like Kids, Animals or Sports for auto cameras. Sit low and quietly with camera ready while the bunny is hanging out. Anticipate moves and click several.
