I think the beige one (Softie) is a Dutch Dwarf mix and the one with black markings (Shadow) is an English Spot – Dwarf mix.

They were rescued together and were the same size but now the beige one is bigger.

They’re both around 3 months old and Shadow is about 30cm long whereas Shadow is about 25cm long.

If my guesses are correct, around how big will they get? At around what age will they stop growing?

I don’t think Softie has any dwarf in her. Dutch and something else medium sized. Though if they are still growing, she could be dutch plus something giant.

I don’t think ennglish spot for Shadow. English spots are a large breed, and those marking are common in many different breeds. She might be a dwarf hotot crossed witha nethie, or even a full dwarf hotot with really bad markings. When hotots have poor markings, they tend to follow that pattern.

I agree with Eepster, except I don’t think I see any giant in Softie. Most likely just another medium breed. Do you know how much they weigh?

                They are adorable though!

My bunnies thank you all for saying that they’re cute ^^

I don’t know how much they weigh since I don’t have a scale but they aren’t that heavy. But they’re very small. All of the bunnies on binkybunny seem to be big, fully grown rabbits, so in comparison I feel like they’re so small which I why I thought they may have some dwarf in them but their ears aren’t small enough to be a dwarf breed, I gather?

Well this is a full grown Netherland Dwarf rabbit I guess:

How do your buns compare to that when you hold them size wise? Are they bigger then that?

Their ears are too big to be dwarfs, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t be mixed with a dwarf breed. There are false dwarfs even in purebred dwarf breeds. Actually, it’s about 1 in 4.

                          No, they are much smaller.

They are lying down now so I just measured Softie and the thickest part of his body is about 8~10cm wide (not including head and legs) and he’s still 30cm. Shadow is skinnier and shorter.

They are only a little over 3 months so I guess they will continue growing until when they’re a year old?

Smaller breeds tend to stop growing around 6 months, but they may continue to fill out for awhile after that.

Hmmm that’s why I’m asking about the breeds. I’d like to get an idea of when they’ll stop growing because I think it’ll help me keep track of their health. At the beginning I was worried Softie was becoming overweight because he was getting rounder than Shadow – I thought they were from the same litter then. But now Softie has grown significantly bigger than Shadow and I’m learning more about different breeds so maybe they’re not related. If I had known then I wouldn’t have worried as much.

You should be able to tell that they have stopped growing bigger if you’re looking at them every day. They may still continue to gain wait for a little while after that though. I wouldn’t worry too much about them growing. If they have good food, then there shouldn’t be any issues.
