I hope you folks can help me. I have a male Lionhead named Bun Bun. He has not been neutered yet. I have a home office which he is in, but he spends a lot of time scratching a way inside his cage. When I move his cage into another room nearby, he stops scratching and hangs out.

But if I put him back in with me in this office, within 10 minutes. scratchscratch..SCratch…SCRATCHSCRATCHSCRATCH!

Does Bun hate me? Why do you think he behaves in the other room, but not in this one with me?

            Questions:
            1) Age?
            2) Size of cage? Kind of cage? Flooring in the cage is wire or plastic? If the cage is abnormally small she may feel the need to run around. Look at making a little x-pen around her cage so you can leave the door open without worry and she has room to run (worked for my bunny).
            3) Time of day? Does it occur at certain times or all day?
            4) Is cage properly stashed with food, water, toys, etc.?

You really should stop moving the bunny in her cage so much. they are creatures of habit and it will likely only make it worse. And if you can carry it, most likely the cage is too small. I suggest looking into making a “front yard” from NIC cubes or a doggie play pen.

If you’re in the bunny’s room then the bunny expects attention. If the time you’re in your home office is always a bad time to give him attention, you might want to permanently move him to another room or have that time be his play time in another room (maybe a bunny proofed room that he can run around in or a gated off hallway?).

Home office, is he scared of the computer sounds or printer? I know Olly wasn’t pleased the Printer was on when he was out playing, he climbed on the table and picked a fight with it.

My bunny also does the scratch the cage when she I put her with me at my home office. She hates the room because of the computer noise and printer. She wants out, but will calm down when I put her on my lap while I work.

He definitely needs a bigger cage although this one is pretty huge. I hadnt thought of the office noise, maybe thats it.
