Please note that I do not want to breed my bunny at all. I was curious as to when bunnies can actually reproduce? At what age? What are the signs they are reaching an age where they want to do the bunny dance?

It varies. It is generally recommended they be separated from any intact males from 12 weeks and they can get hormonal and territorial from the same age.
It’s not common for them to get pregnant at 3 months but it can happen and for a domestic bunny that can cause a whole lot of problems and can kill them. By 4 months you definitely do not want them interacting with intact boys. Bunnies don’t come into heat, they ovulate on demand. Boys can reproduce the minutes their bits start to develop which is 8-12 weeks so that is a good time to get Mummy in for a spay as babies wean at 8 weeks. If you get caught all you can do is ride out the storm and I strongly advise against allowing bunnies to breed. I have dealt with two oops litters and a rhr old rescue litter. It’s stressful and the little blighters are very time consuming and once a big group get active and start running about it is very hard to control, then you have to find space to separate everybody if they start to get territorial at 8 weeks if the boys are starting to hump everyone.

That’s very scary to know how young they can be to have litters. I have a friend who is already an experienced bunny father, but he said that his rabbits are not spayed or neutered. He a 3 month old female and two males one is 3 months old and the other one is 2 months old. I visit his place and I would sometimes see the two males trying to hump the female.

He said it was fine and that the female won’t get pregnant until the bunny is 6 months old. What do you think of his method? It seems strange even for me to see the bunnies humping and they all share one large xpen.

He is tempting fate. At that age things could go South very quickly with aggression and pregnancy. All three could end up fighting and any chance of later bonding could be destroyed and then he could find he not only has to separate the three but then find separate accommodation for a litter of buns.
