I gave my bunnies maybe 5~6 empty toilet paper rolls (only one at a time) and I’ve consistently found them ending up in the litter box or their water dish.

I’ve also given them small pieces of wood which they use as a pillow or they chew it and it never ends up in the litter box or water dish.

So does that mean they hate the toilet paper rolls?  Because I know they love the wood.

They seem to like to flip it (hold it with their teeth and then flick their heads so the toilet paper flips in the air) so I thought they were enjoying it…

But when it ends up in the litter box or water dish it usually becomes un-playable. So do they like it and then get bored of it and trash it???

No, they are just playing. The tp rolls end up in the water by accident. It seems like they are enjoying their toys, otherwise they would ignore them. This is my theory, nobody can tell for sure with rabbits =)

It means they just don’t have good aim :~) Also I don’t think rabbits understand that litterboxes and bowls aren’t trash cans – I don’t think they understand the concept of trash at all….that’s a human thing.

I think they might recognize that litter boxes are disposal areas… they dispose their poo and pee there so I wouldn’t be surprised if they tossed the toilet paper roll in there if they didn’t want to play with it anymore. Not sure why it ends up in the water dish though.
