The title pretty much says it all.

My grandma came into my room and Pamper started going at her and trying to bite her. She also raised her front paws and made a funny grunt.

I’m just curious as to why this could be. My sister comes in all the time and she doesn’t get this type of response.

I have a couple of theories though:

        1) Pamper was spayed three weeks ago and may have reacted to someone new with a different smell coming in? Or maybe it was the perfume my grandma had on her?

        2) Grandma was also wearing a fuzzy sweater which… had the same texture as a bunny.

The sweater, maybe Grandma had perfume on, hope Grandma is OK.

I’m not an expert, but I would imagine it’s more likely to be perfume than sweater; my understanding is that bunnies rely more on their sense of smell than eyesight, but obviously I could be wrong. Could also be another joyful example of the hormonal crazies that bunnies go through when they’re neutered.

I hope your gramdma is okay, of course, but the title of this thread just made me laugh. Bunnies are just such brats sometimes.

Male bunnies can have surging hormones for several weeks after their neuter so I’m assuming it is, at least partially, to blame. The perfume may have caused him some alarm if he’s not used to it. Does your grandma have any pets?

Oh dear, hope your grandmother is okay. I think it’s the smell; my bunny hates it when my friend who likes to wear that channel perfume (can’t remember what number it was) enters my living room. She charges my friend and of course the chase begins yet my bunny won’t charge her if she is not wearing the perfume. Still the title of this is very funny. Hope everything is okay.

I’m sorry I didn’t see this. Forgot to subscribe to email.

My grandma is fine, in fact she found it quite funny. She is much calmer now, it’s been a month after the surgery.
Thank you for your answers, they were very interesting!
