So for the past few days Oliver hasn’t been eating his dinner. He’s still acting mostly normal (a bit more lethargic) and still pooping… although less. His only change is he’ll eat maybe 10 pieces of lettuce and his 1/8 cup of pellets for dinner and then leave the rest to go bad. he is eating much more of his breakfast, but not all of that either. What should I do? Could his appetite be effected by the recent warm weather?

Ps he grooms the dog an insane amount and many of his poops are strung together with hair.

Have you had his teeth checked lately?

Not in about 4 months. Would he still be eating some food and hay with spurs?

Yes, he definitely would. I would have his teeth checked – it could be a regular problem with senior rabbits.

Can you provide a little more information on molar spurs? I’ve looked up the symptoms and the only one he has is that he’s eating less  (and a significant amount less). Otherwise there’s no drooling, to seeming eager to eat and then not eating, no runny eyes…

In the absence of any other symptoms I’m inclined to wait a few days before I make a vet appointment. The appointments stress him out so much that it’s hard for me to take him there unless I’m sure something is wrong.

Do bunnies decide they aren’t that hungry for a few days here and there? Is that a possibility with his age or with the fact that it’s suddenly been much warmer here?

That should be fine – symptoms vary from rabbit to rabbit and some don’t have symptoms that are noticeable at all.

Bunnies don’t stop eating unless there is a reason.

My bunny has never experienced drooling even when his molars were really bad. Sometimes he would get gas or pass mushy poos. But other than that, no other symptoms when he needs his teeth done.
