        Hi All!

I should start by saying, I have not yet gotten my Holland Lop baby yet, due to the fact that I am moving out of my parent’s house soon, and the stresses of moving on a new bunny are hard! Also my parents have a 5 year old beagle (don’t let his age fool you, I swear he’s still in the terrible twos) and they (beagles- not my parents) are bred rabbit hunters, so needless to say, I am waiting to bring my baby home until I have a home of my own that is bunny safe.

I am planning on having my baby be free roam while I am home, and sequestered into a cage while I am not, at least until he/she is trained well enough and can be trusted. I chose to get a Holland Lop because they just have the sweetest baby faces forever! Also they stay small, which is good for an apartment! I have always wanted a bunny, but as a child could never have one because my brother is allergic. I have done so much research (and much Binky Bunny reading) and feel pretty confident about my knowledge. Regardless, I still have so many questions!

I can’t wait to begin my journey as a bunny mommy, and to share my experience with all of you! My baby should be arriving around mid-August! I know it’s still rather far away, but I just am so so excited that I couldn’t wait to get on here any longer!!

          Big Welcome to you!!!!

Definitely a smart move to wait. My Mom has a Westie and she has a huge prey drive as a rat hunter breed so I would be very fearful of a beagle around a bunny.

And good on you for doing lots of reading. Bunnies are so unique and way too many people are not properly prepared for the level of care they require.

Eager to see pics of your bun when you get him/her.

LittlePuffyTail- thank you! I have this obsession with doing research before I make any decision, so this new addition has been thoroughly prepared for! I’m even running out of YouTube videos to watch! And yes, my beagle is very prey driven. He was never taught to hunt, but his instinct is very strong.

Good news on the bunny front!! My landlord gave me 100% permission to have a rabbit in my apartment!! I wasn’t too worried because my lease does state pets are allowed, but I wanted express permission so that I wouldn’t have to worry. So my future baby is definitely coming!!! I’ve been in contact with a breeder and she said she will have a litter around the time I can get my bunny! I know adoption is always a first choice, but the animal shelters in my area don’t have any available. Perhaps later down the road my little one will get a sibling! My boyfriend is neutral on the bunny, but seeing as we don’t live together yet (he’s in the marine corps) his input isn’t really necessary.

As for my other fur babies, I have a brand new kitten named Jock (though he is living with my boyfriend) a betta fish named Walter (the dorms at my university only allow fish) and as previously mentioned, a 5 year old (on June 24th) beagle named Radar. In the past I have had hamsters and fish.

I originally went to college as a pre-vet major, but because of my family goals (I want children young) as well as financial means (I pay for my education) 8 years of college isn’t do-able. So now I am a Medical Laboratory Sciences major. Anything disease related I find absolutely fascinating!

That’s all I can really think of for right now. If anyone has questions about me I am happy to answer!

Hi! I’m a new bunny momma too. I was so excited before I got my baby Holland! I just got him a week and a half ago and he’s a total sweetie pie. I know you’ll love yours! I’m in an apartment too, and right now my two babies are fitting in excellently – I’d love another Holland Lop baby, but I’m forcing myself to hold off… two is a lot to handle. You must post pictures when you get yours! Not much cuter than a baby Holland!

Oh there will be plenty of pictures!!! I like to capture cuteness and always have my phone camera at the ready haha. I’m already driving everybody nuts with facts about bunnies all day long! When I decide to buy something (from something insignificant like a phone charger all the way to a bunny) I literally read everything I can get my hands on. I swear I have a problem with doing research!!

Congratulations on being an almost Bunny Mommy! I’m a new Holland Lop owner and just got my baby about a month ago. You will absolutely love yours! Mine was about nine weeks old when I got him, and it’s been so amazing watching him grow up.

And I’m the same way with research! That’s how I found Binky Bunny, as well.

HereComesTheBun- I am so so so excited to get my little guy. I’ve been in contact with the breeder since early early May! Mine should be around 9-10 weeks when I get him! As of right now I have two different name possibilities. I like Timothy (always loved the name but won’t name my child that) and I really like Rumplestiltskin and calling him Rumple for short! (I’m a big Once Upon a Time fan and he’s my favorite character) I won’t know for sure until I see him, but Rumple is my favorite.
